Food Runner



The potential candidate will be the bridge between the front and back of the house, working on the line as well as interacting with guests. The candidate will be responsible for quality checking our dishes and providing above and beyond service to our guests. the details

  • Quality check all dishes coming across the line according to our culinary standards
  • Deliver food from the kitchen to guests’ tables rapidly and accurately
  • Act as the contact point between Front of the House and Back of the House staff
  • Communicate messages to chefs, paying attention to priorities and special requests (e.g. food allergies)
  • Assist the service staff by attending to guests needs at time of food placement
  • Ensure food is served in accordance with safety standards (e.g. proper temperature)
  • Remove dirty dishes and utensils as needed
  • Answer guests’ questions about ingredients and menu items
  • Inform restaurant staff about customers’ feedback or requests (e.g. when they ask for the check)
  • Prep ingredients and garnish dishes with care and precision
  • Pay close attention to seat numbers for food placement
  • Describe dishes to guests
  • Keep the kitchen line clean and tickets organized according to Chef standards

the qualifications

  • Proven experience in a restaurant setting
  • Knowledge of health and safety rules in a kitchen
  • Manual dexterity able to operate cutting tools and kitchen utensils
  • A team player with good communication skills
  • Patient with an ability to stay positive under pressure
  • Good physical condition and endurance
  • Training from a culinary school will be an asset
